EXPLOSIVES AND NARCOTICS DETECTION:
There will be aids planted in vehicles and
buildings. Teams will be graded on finding the
aids, handler’s ability to read the alert, and
how well the team works together. Ties will be
broken by a sniff off, arranged by the Judges.
HANDLERS WILL NOT BE TOLD HOW MANY HIDES THEY
HAVE TO LOCATE.
BUILDING SEARCH:
You will search a building that has numerous
rooms and hiding spots throughout. Tactics, the
dog’s ability to locate the hidden suspect, and
the handler’s ability to read the alert, and how
the handler and dog function as a team will be
graded. This is a timed event. This is closed to
the public and only judges, agitators, and K-9
teams will be permitted.
AREA SEARCH:
The team will search the area as he or she would
do on a real search. Tactics, the dog’s ability
to locate the hidden suspect, and the handler’s
ability to read the alert, and how the handler
and dog function as a team will be graded. This
is a timed event. This will be an isolated area
and only the judges, agitators, and K-9 team
will be permitted.
NOTE: This year you will be flown into
the search area with your K9 partner via
helicopter. You will be required to muzzle
your dog prior to boarding the aircraft.

OBEDIENCE:
Obedience will be done off- lead with
no chains dangling, or any other control device.
The obedience routine may consist of left turns,
right turns, turn into your dog, about turn,
fast heel, slow heel, down your dog on the move,
recall to heel, hand signals from approximately
20 yards and tactical obedience with gunfire.
