EXPLOSIVES AND NARCOTICS DETECTION:
There will be aids planted in vehicles and buildings. Teams will be graded on finding the aids, handler’s ability to read the alert, and how well the team works together. Ties will be broken by a sniff off, arranged by the Judges. HANDLERS WILL NOT BE TOLD HOW MANY HIDES THEY HAVE TO LOCATE.

BUILDING SEARCH:
You will search a building that has numerous rooms and hiding spots throughout. Tactics, the dog’s ability to locate the hidden suspect, and the handler’s ability to read the alert, and how the handler and dog function as a team will be graded. This is a timed event. This is closed to the public and only judges, agitators, and K-9 teams will be permitted.

AREA SEARCH:
The team will search the area as he or she would do on a real search. Tactics, the dog’s ability to locate the hidden suspect, and the handler’s ability to read the alert, and how the handler and dog function as a team will be graded. This is a timed event. This will be an isolated area and only the judges, agitators, and K-9 team will be permitted.

NOTE: This year you will be flown into the search area with your K9 partner via helicopter.  You will be required to muzzle your dog prior to boarding the aircraft.
